When I started this website/blog I wrote in it every day.  It seemed to confirm or solidify my goal each day to eat one meal a day.  After about 4 months life just kind of got in the way.  I continue to lose weight, I still love this WAY OF EATING (WOE).  I still eat one meal a day – occasionally twice a day depending on circumstances.  I continue to ride my bike and walk.  But I am a firm believer of all the studies – weight loss is 80% food and 20% other things (activities).  So I go in to 2021 very thankful for finding Amanda Rose’s Eat Like a Bear Facebook/website.  I hope to get back to writing daily or at least weekly with pictures of my food.

For my age, 64, and weight journey it has been the answer I needed.  I love reading all the positive posts and questions on the Facebook page – very motivating.  I  personally have not lost weight as fast as a lot of the folks – but I am very happy with my weight loss.  It has been just over 7 months and I have lost around 45 pounds.  BUT the non-scale victories (NSV) are amazing:

  • more energy
  • not thinking about food all the time
  • very empowering
  • didn’t know I had that small of underwear in my drawer (and they fit)
  • satisfaction/proud
  • no longer a bathtub “dam” – water goes around me
  • towel wraps around me
  • Don’t worry about breaking a chair
  • I keep going smaller in clothes, which is awesome

those are just off the top of my head – every day I see positive NSV!
